A variable font (VF) is a font file that is able to store a continuous range of design variants. An entire typeface (font family) can be stored in such a file, with an infinite number of fonts available to be sampled.
One file can now do what many files had to do separately: it contains a whole type family, if not a whole super family.
Variable fonts work through axes, the sliders that are the lines of power. We move along and change these sliders, varying and reinventing the appearance and character of each font.

With all of its variants, Ada is the largest Ruqʿah-based type system to date.
